DHL, Blue Dart to have Kolkata-Dhaka flight in 2 months
DHL is planning direct flight between Kollkata and Dhaka in two months, in association with Blue Dart Aviation, in an attempt to compete with the unorganised express and logistics players in the SAARC countries. With cargo being transported between Kolkata and Dhaka through Singapore, a direct flight would reduce both time and costs. "Blue Dart Aviation would run a direct flight to Dhaka in two months time and this would help in bringing down our cost by atlest 20 per cent, in addition to the transit time," said Craig Grossgart, vice president, DHL Express (India). According to the company, the benefits would be passed on to the customers.
